In an exciting period of growth we are looking for Network Engineers

The Network Engineering and Support team is accountable for the infrastructure design, configuration, maintenance and second line support of the network.

As a dedicated team they carry out a number of processes to ensure our clients network infrastructure operates in the most effective and reliable manner.

This includes operational reviews, project design reviews, and liaison with key suppliers such as Juniper, and Force10.

The team liaises with the Head of Network Engineering and Support on network design and engineering matters.

The team also operates at a Global level with its counter parts in Paris, London, New York etc.

The Network Engineering and Support team develops, implements, supports and maintains network solutions for all our clients global customers. This includes carrying an authoritative voice on aspects of network design, implementation, testing, performance and operation. The role involves being a technical interface with network equipment suppliers and for network architectural elements.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain network solutions to enable effective management of business and technical requirements for all our clients Technologies. • Manage third party suppliers for operational effectiveness. • Design continuity, development & maintenance. • Network OS and hardware currency recommendations. • Providing definitive architectural conformance documentation for circuits, hardware, logical design, and application deployment. • Provision of General Design documentation with subsequent liaison with other team members and implementation team members. • Network hardware platform functional requirements and evaluation. • Test plan development. • Network instrumentation requirements.

Essential:

The applicant is expected to have the following skills and experience;

• In depth knowledge of general network principles and technology. • Graduate and/or several years in depth experience of network design and operation. • IP routing/multicast routing. Such as OSPF, BGP, MSDP & PIM. • Good understanding of switching & routing technology. • Internet and WAN protocols specifically global network technologies such as SDH, DWDM and BGP, MPLS. . • In depth knowledge of Juniper products and JUNOS • Ability to adapt current knowledge base to the deployment of other non specific vendor products and OS. Beneficial: • Breadth and understanding of financial trading industry IT and business. • Juniper knowledge to JNCIE level on MX, EX, M, and J series platforms. • Knowledge of operating systems and their TCP/IP stacks • Familiar with Force10 products and FTOS • Familiar Ciena DWDM product range
